FCCI’s Chairman Receives the General Secretary of the Arabic-British Chamber

Salah Salem Bin Omeir Al Shamsi, Chairman of the UAE FCCI and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce, received at the FCCI’s offices in Dubai her Excellency Dr.Afnan Al Sheaibe, General Secretary of the Arabic-British Chamber of Commerce. During the meeting the UAE Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry received an invitation to attend the Arabic-British Economic Conference that will be held in London at the beginning of November. Attending the meeting was His Excellency Abdullah Sultan Abdullah, General Secretary of the FCCI, and his Excellency Shaheen Ali Shaheen, Assistant General Secretary.

His Excellency Eng. Salah Salem Bin Omeir Al Shamsi reiterated during the meeting that it is important for Arabic and foreign chambers ,particularly, the Arabic-British Chamber, to take initiatives and practical steps to introduce the economic developments in the Arab countries and the favorable investment environment. He pointed out the support that the UAE is offering to these chambers due to the important role they play in their countries.

He said that the UAE FCCI has played an active role in establishing joint Arabic and foreign chambers that help enhance and consolidate economic and commercial ties between the Arab world and global partners. The Arabic-British Chamber is one of these chambers that works continually to improve commercial and investment exchange between Britain and Arabic countries.

He added:”We as federation for the chambers of commerce in the UAE will provide all sorts of support to the Arabic-British Chamber to enable it to carry out its functions.” The UAE is one of Britain’s most important commercial partners. This is evident in the increase commercial exchange between to the two countries to around 18.350 billion dirham in 2007. He pointed out that more development in the economic ties between the two countries is still possible through the exchange of commercial delegates to identify the latest investment opportunities available in both countries. Efforts should be exerted to organize joint commercial exhibitions in coordination with the FCCI, information exchange on the economic development in both countries should be improved, new planned projects should be identified and terms of participation should be made known to national companies in both countries. Communications between private companies in both countries should be intensified to expand the opportunities of joint projects.

He also reviewed the outcome of the FCCI’s participation in the Gulf-European Commercial Exhibition and Conference that was held in London last year. His Excellency the Chairman of the FCCI considered that conference and exhibition were excellent platforms to introduce gulf and European companies.

On her side, the General Secretary and Executive Officer of the Arabic-British Chamber of Commerce reiterated that her visit to the UAE reflects the keenness of the chamber to consolidate cooperation with the UAE in view of the strategic ties that links the UAE to Britain in addition to being one of the most important economic partners.

أخبار اتحاد غرف التجارة والصناعةHE Sultan Al Mansouri, Minister of Economy paid a visit to the Members Services Center ( MSC) which was inaugurated recently by the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, with 26 federal and local services provided to investors , companies and institutions operating in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and the State in general.

HE Sultan Al Mansoori, accompanied by His Excellency Engineer Salah Salem bin Omeir Al Shamsi, Chairman of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry president of Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry toured in the center where he was briefed on the services rendered to the public and to companies and investors by the federal and local agencies regarding the issuance of permits and access to data and economic information and investment opportunities and lists of projects in all sectors of the various emirates.

The Minister of Economy praised the Center for the outstanding level of integrated services, which includes 26 official and private institutions under one roof to serve the members and businessmen, investors, companies and institutions in an atmosphere of professionalism and the process can be distinguished for all these services in record time and through one window and save time and effort to the representatives of companies and institutions.

Among the entities that provide services at the center is the Ministry of Economy, which provides information and economic data and models used for the publication of the ministry and service companies, official documents of the people.

His Excellency the Minister of Economy, expressed his appreciation for the idea of "business link" launched by Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, , which aims to help investors and entrepreneurs in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi through the provision of management consulting and information on investment opportunities and areas of investment and assistance in the search for a partner or agent services and advice in the recruitment of cadres as well as to serve the economic and promotional literature, providing specialized business Link brochures and specialized publications on the projects presented by and implemented by governmental institutions in all the Emirates in addition to the publications and promotional activities of leading companies operating in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and the State.

HE Eng Salah Salem bin Omeir Al Shamsi, Chairman of the Chamber, expressed thanks and appreciation for the visit of HE Sultan Mansouri, Minister of Economy to the center of integrated services and the participation of the ministry in providing services to investors and businessmen through their presence at the center in addition to 25 other federal and local institutions offering services to beneficiaries of the services Center.

He added that the launching of Integrated Service Center is part of a strategy aimed at providing services at the highest level of quality to the private sector and form direct communication between enterprises located in the center and the beneficiaries of the services in order to contribute to the work and activities of companies operating in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and investors who wish to take advantage of the opportunities and investment environment, provided by the Emirate of Abu Dhabi to investors and foreign companies.
